Variety
of Plans:
Design
a program just for your herd.
- Traditional
- A DHI technician visits the farm monthly for each milking
in a 24 hour period. Milk weights and samples are obtained at
each milking.
- Owner
Sampler
- Milk weights and samples are obtained by the producer from
each milking in a 24 hour period.
- LER
- (labor efficient records) A DHI technician collects and measures
milk samples four times a year, while the producer is responsible for
taking milk samples eight times a year.
- AM/PM
- Milk weights are obtained at both AM and PM milkings, but
samples are taken at the AM and PM milking alternating on consecutive
test days. For herds milking three times a day, milk weights are
obtained from all three milkings, but samples are taken from one of
two (optional) milkings.
