Stillbirth evaluations available soon
NAAB and USDA are putting the finishing touches on a new Stillbirth evaluation, which is scheduled for release in August 2006. With about 13 percent of Holstein calves from first calf heifers and five percent of calves from later lactation cows reported as being born dead or die within 48 hours, it’s clear there is room for improvement from both a genetic and management standpoint.
