In a study conducted by Dr. K.W. Griswold, Southern Illinois University, it was proven that administering BioFresh Bolus for three consecutive days to cows with an initial LSCC > 5 caused LSCC to decrease one LSCC unit (200,000 somatic cells).

According to research conducted at the Southern Illinois University (SIU), Carbondale, Illinois, short-term feeding of BioFresh Boluses can be effective in assisting with reducing days open and services per conception in cows at freshening.

In the study conducted by Dr. Ken Griswold, and others at SIU, cows were randomly split into two groups. One group received BioFresh Boluses (one per day for three consecutive days) and the second group received placebo boluses.

In comparing the treatment groups, both Days Open and Services Per Conception were lower in the group treated with BioFresh Boluses. Research results for Days Open showed a positive trend with a probability of P=0.085. The placebo group averaged 186 days open compared to 86 days open in the BioFresh treated group. Research for Services Per Conception showed a similar trend with statistical significance with a probability of P=0.03. The placebo group averaged 2.68 services per conception, compared to 1.19 for the BioFresh Bolus group.
